These have a place for a captive nut in the top. Use #10 nuts (imperial) with #10 1 3/4" machine screws. This is designed to hold strips of 1/4" thick, 1 1/2" wide wood strips (common at home depot and such). Cut the wood strips to: 1 3/8" for crossing 1 hole 2 3/8" for crossing 2 holes 3 3/8" for crossing 3 holes (you see the pattern here)
